Creative Movement and Personal Dance – Improvisation Workshop
Location:
Eskus – Esitystaiteen keskus
Suvilahti; Puhdistamo
Building nro 6, 2. floor
Kaasutehtaankatu 1/33
00540 Helsinki
Monday 1.12.2025 5pm-7:30pm
Monday 8.12.2025, 5pm-7:30pm

This workshop offers a supportive space for each participant to explore their own movement and expression in a shared environment.

Through guided improvisation, the facilitator provides movement prompts that range from imagery to body sensations, spatial relationships, and more. Participants are encouraged to respond in their own unique way, following their impulses and curiosity.

The aim is not to perform, but to reconnect with the body and creativity through movement. Following your own way of moving might bring up joy, release, energy, inspiration, freedom and acceptance.

The workshop draws from Henna’s favorite improvisation practices, shaped by over 20 years practise in dance, circus, and theatre. Influences include SOLU Somatic Movement Education (Satu Palokangas), Body-Mind Centering®, contemporary dance methods, Jacques Lecoq, Pulse, Viewpoints, and more.
